We offer on-location sofa cleaning services throughout Fairfield County, Westchester County, and Litchfield County. Whether you live in Darien, Fairfield, Norwalk or nearby cities like Greenwich or Stamford, don’t worry. We know that couches, sofas, and divans are anything but “portable,” so we come to you!
A Top-rated Couch Cleaning Service
While most people, actually all people, have some type of couch in their home, and while many types of couches are made of soft fabric as well as leather, people are often puzzled as to what to search for when looking for a couch cleaning service. Is it a carpet cleaning company that would do this? Or perhaps an sofa cleaning company that is truly specialized? They often get stuck amidst the blur of DIY (do-it-yourself) home cleaning products, “as if” you want to clean your expensive Italian leather couch yourself. We don’t recommend that!
Many homeowners in affluent communities like Greenwich or Stamford want to “outsource” this headache to a professional who knows the varieties of upholstery and the varieties of fabrics used in couches, sofas, and divans, (not to mention has a skilled grasp of how to clean out stains from common upholstery and furnishings) In fact, many people these days suffer from allergies and want a professional couch cleaning service to come to their home in Greenwich or New Canaan, and get the job done. The job done, right. We can help. HomeCare by Fabricare is ranked as one of the best couch cleaning services in Darien, Fairfield, or Norwalk not just because of our commitment to quality, but because we are a “total solution.” We can clean not only furniture, upholstery, and all types of couches (whether of cloth or leather), but also carpets, drapery, upholstery, and even bed linens. If it’s made of cloth or leather and it’s in your home, we can clean it. And because we’re part of the Fabricare family, we can also handle your dry cleaning and laundry needs.
We can set up an appointment, first, to overview your cleaning needs and give you an estimate. Then, assuming you like what you hear, we can schedule a cleaning. It can be as simple as just cleaning the couch, or it can be as complex as an entire in-home cleaning: the carpets, the rugs, the furniture, the upholstery, the drapes. Maybe you have a sofa, a divan, a love seat, and a couch? Maybe you’re couch crazy and you have quite a few in a large, luxurious home. You name it. We can clean it. Finally, some customers want us to schedule a regular cleaning engagement, so we can come back monthly or quarterly to make sure that your home stays fresh and clean.
Reviewing Your Couch Cleaning Needs
Here are the steps to get started. First, simply give us a call. We can discuss over the phone what needs cleaning, and our service area. With our “home bases” in Darien, Fairfield, and Norwalk, the cleaning service area for our couch cleaning service is obviously those cities, places within a twenty mile radius, and common cities in Connecticut such as Greenwich or New Canaan. We even go as far South as Scarsdale, Mamaroneck or Port Chester in New York. Next, one of our reps will come out to your home and walk through what needs to be potentially cleaned. He can give you an estimate. Then, on “cleaning day,” we’ll come out and clean your couches and sofas, loveseats and divans, and any other cloth or leather-based furniture that needs cleaning. For some items such as linens or potentially drapes, we’ll have the cleaning done in our plant. For many others such as carpets, rugs, or furniture, we’ll have the cleaning done in your home. Don’t worry. We’ll choose the most efficacious cleaning strategy for your in-home cleaning needs.
And remember: we’re full service. We clean all types of upholstery, but also furnishings, couches, sofas, carpeting and even high-end rugs!
The Etymology of Couches
Couches go by many names. In the 1950s, it seemed that everyone referred to them as sofas. And then there are love seats and divans. Yet all are essentially places to sit or recline, and bigger than chairs. Here’s some etymology for you. Couch: 1300–50; (noun) Middle English couche < Anglo-French, Old French, derivative of coucher; (v.) Middle English couchen < Anglo-French, Old French coucher, Old French colcher < Latin collocāre to put into place, equivalent to col- col-1 + locāre to put, place; see locate. Sofa: 1615–25; < Turkish < Arabic ṣuffah platform used as a seat. Divan: 1580–90; < Turkish < Persian dīwān, orig. dēvan booklet (whence account book, office, council, bench), and loveseat: well, that one was first recorded in 1900, and is a seat for two persons, appropriately (or perhaps inappropriately) close to each other.
